Car slams into tree off Memorial Dr.

HOUSTON Emergency crews responded to the accident on Woodway outbound just inside the 610 Loop. A car reportedly crashed into a tree on the side of the road.

Police say a male in his 20s was driving a white Lexus at a high rate of speed, possibly over 70mph, when he had a blowout, lost control, and went airborne at the Woodway/Memorial split. He struck the tree on the median and died instantly.

The victim has not been identified yet.
