Frito Lay won't name park after all

GALVESTON, TX Frito Lay asked Galveston County commissioners to stop the re-naming process of Fort Crockett Park to "Sun Chip Park at Fort Crockett." The park is best known for the statue of the man reaching toward the sky, honoring those who lost their lives in the hurricane of 1900.

Frito Lay says it has been getting a lot of complaints about the change, but the company will still donate the $1 million to help fix up the park after Hurricane Ike. The city of Galveston may put up a plaque or do something else to thank the company.
