Bank robber uses bike for getaway

KINGWOOD, TX The FBI Houston Bank Robbery Task Force is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the serial bank robber dubbed the "Reckless Robber" who is suspected in at least 14 Houston area bank robberies. His latest robbery occurred at the Wells Fargo bank, located at 1910 West Lake Houston Parkway in Kingwood, Texas, this morning. The "Reckless Robber" was nicknamed for his reckless and dangerous actions during his robberies.

At approximately 10:08am, the "Reckless Robber" entered the bank, pulled a silver semi-automatic pistol from his waist and announced loudly that he was robbing the bank and warned everyone not to call the police. As in previous robberies, he erratically waved his weapon around the bank, pointing it directly at employees and customers inside the bank. He walked directly to the teller counter, handed her a black canvass bag, and demanded cash. The teller complied. He then exited the bank and was observed leaving the area on a bicycle. The bicycle was later recovered a short distance from the bank. No one was physically hurt during the robbery.

The robber is described as a white or Hispanic male with a light complexion, 25-30 years old, 6'- 6'2" tall, about 200 pounds. He was wearing a white t-shirt with dark colored sleeves, dark shorts, a dark colored bicycle helmet, bicycle gloves, and dark sunglasses. He carried a black canvas bag into the bank and a silver semi-automatic pistol.

The "Reckless Robber" is suspected in at least 13 other Houston area robberies between October 8, 2008 and the present. A combined FBI and Crime Stoppers reward is being offered in the amount of $10,000 for information which leads to an arrest and conviction.
