Former state school employee pleads guilty

McALLEN, TX Court records show that Vincent Johnson received a suspended two-year jail sentence and five years' probation after pleading guilty to a lesser charge of omission.

In return, he promises to testify in other cases against former staff members accused of orchestrating fights among developmentally disabled school residents.

State District Judge Sandra Watts sentenced the 22-year-old former staffer on Friday. He had been scheduled to go on trial with two other former state school employees Monday.
