Relief coming to Pearland commuters

PEARLAND, TX City officials say they're planning to add an additional lane in each direction on the west side of FM 518 to its intersection with Highway 288. That would expand FM 518 in that area to six lanes. The city plans to begin construction within two weeks.

Workers will have to close right hand lanes during some of the construction. Those closures will happen at night when traffic is light.
