5,000-pound metal plate crushes worker

EULESS, TX The accident happened about 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Camtech Precision Manufacturing plant in Euless, a Fort Worth suburb.

Euless police reports say the 13-by-8-foot plate was suspended over 53-year-old Royce Bunkley as he was cleaning it when the plate fell on him.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Wednesday that the plant makes aircraft engines and engine parts. The newspaper reports OSHA cited the Euless company in 2007 for four workplace safety violations, including one classified as serious. The issues were resolved later that year.
