Jail Officer Elizabeth Champion told The Associated Press that Baczewski was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
The 22-year-old was arrested Monday night at a hotel in Alamo. Sheriff's investigators sought him as a person of interest in the killing of 54-year-old Violetta Baczewski.
Her body was discovered Sunday. No cause of death was released. Baczewski, on his MySpace page, listed himself as a vehicle mechanic at Fort Benning, Ga.
A Fort Benning spokesman did not immediately return a call Tuesday.
