Authorities say the suspect deliberately turned into the house, nearly hitting the home.
When the lieutenant got out of his vehicle he heard a gunshot. He waited for another patrol unit to arrive and then checked the vehicle. They found the male with a gunshot wound to the head.
An ambulance arrived and took him to Ben Taub Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim hasn't been identified. An investigation is underway to determine what exactly happened.
