Seized funds boosted DA staff salaries

ALICE, TX The Alice Echo-News Journal reports in Tuesday's edition that the findings are in an audit ordered by Jim Wells County commissioners. The findings of the audit of former District Attorney Joe Frank Garza's forfeiture fund have been shared with the Texas Attorney General's office.

Garza hasn't disputed spending some of the forfeiture money on his staff, but denies that he did anything illegal.
