During the investigation, Montgomery County Major Crimes investigators learned that the victim had met the suspect at a restaurant in South Montgomery County on Saturday around 1pm to discuss the remodeling of a home. After lunch the victim rode with the suspect to his home on Baltic Ave. to see color samples and fixtures.
The victim told investigators that once inside the home the suspect grabbed her from behind, choking her to unconsciousness. When the victim awoke she found that she was in a shed and was bound with tape and wrapped in a tarpaulin. The victim was able to free herself and make her way to a neighbor's home for help. The victim was seriously injured with bruising about her head, neck, arms, legs, and shoulders. The victim was taken to Herman Hospital in downtown Houston for treatment.
Investigators worked throughout the day and night, searching for evidence, conducting interviews, obtaining an arrest warrant and locating and arresting the suspect.
Kevin Maurice Bigelow, 47, was arrested without incident with help of the US Marshalls Office and the Montgomery County SWAT Team inside an apartment at the Woodwind Forest Apartments on Budde Road in South Montgomery County. Bigelow has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and injury to the elderly. He is being held without bond. The investigation is continuing and other arrests are not anticipated.
