People started lining up around 6am to take a timed qualification test on both movie trivia and general knowledge.
Those who made it past the first round were called back for an interview with one of the show's producers.
Anyone who is selected could appear in the next season of the syndicated show with Meredith Viera, or the upcoming 10-year anniversary primetime episodes with original host, Regis Philbin.
