Faithful protest church's closing

HOUSTON About 30 people demonstrated outside downtown's Co-cathedral of the Sacred Heart Sunday morning. They held crucifixes and signs calling on the archdiocese to reverse its decision to shut down Our Mother of Mercy, the only church on the 36 mile peninsula.

The archdiocese wants to demolish the church, which was damaged during Hurricane Ike.
