Woman, 104, gives birthday gift to others

HOUSTON If you're Gertrude Childers, you celebrate by giving a donation to the Houston Food Bank. Childers turned 104 years young on June 1. She had a birthday party and encouraged her guests not to bring presents, but rather $1.04, in her honor. Childers ended up with $59.28. Today she delivered the donation to the food bank.

"I don't want that money," Childers said. "I want people that really need it to have it. I need it, but I don't need it that bad."

So what does Childers plan to do for her 105th birthday? She says she'll collect money again and donate it to whoever's in need.
