Woman found floating in Galveston Bay

GALVESTON, TX Just before 11am, a man was swimming with his daughter in Galveston Bay near 21st Street when he spotted something that appeared to be a piece of cardboard. As he got closer, he realized it was an unconscious woman floating in the water.

The man went back to shore and got another man to help him pull the woman out of the water. They called 911 and Galveston Beach Patrol, Galveston Fire and Galveston EMS responded.

Life Flight responded and transported the woman, 82, to Memorial Hermann, where she later died.
