The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. He was involved in an accident as he was leaving the bank, but was able to leave the scene prior to law enforcement's arrival.
On May 30, 2009, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit Detectives received a tip that the Walker County Sheriff's Office had a male in custody on unrelated charges who claimed to have been involved in similar robberies in Harris County. Major Crimes Unit Detectives interviewed the suspect and identified him as Daniel Ray Howard, 34, who admitted to being involved in the robbery of the Amegy Bank in January.
