Deputy hurt during overnight chase

HOUSTON It started when a Houston police officer tried to pull over the driver of a black BMW near 32nd and Hinton. The driver didn't stop, and HPD put out a call for help.

The driver led police on the chase from that original location up to I-45 North, made a U-turn and ended up on Highway 59, where he exited Little York. The driver then cut through a parking lot.

That's when the deputy tried to join in the chase. As he tried to turn on Vivian and Highway 59, he hit some loose gravel and ended up in the ditch.

We're told the deputy had minor injuries, but is otherwise OK. As for the suspect, Houston police did end up catching him.
