Congressman wants FEMA extension

Congressman Pete Olson wants FEMA to extend the deadline for communities devastated by Hurricane Ike to file debris removal reimbursement requests.[SIGN UP: Get headlines and breaking news sent to you]

The debris cleanup has been moving slower than expected. Two weeks ago, FEMA asked coastal cities to start footing some of the cleanup bill. The cities say that's another hit to their cash-strapped budgets.

Congressman Olson says the deadline for Ike should be extended as it was for Hurricane Katrina.
