SWAT teams were called to a home on China Berry near Laurel Glen just before 8pm. Investigators say a man fatally shot his father and stepmother and then turned the gun on himself.

League City investigators have identified the victims as Lewis Cantrell II and Gayle Cantrell. Investigators say they were shot and killed by 27-year-old Lewis Cantrell III, the oldest son. The son's body was also discovered in the home.

When authorities arrived on the scene, two of the other children ran out, saying that shots were being fired.

"The initial call came in on a 911 call. Witnesses inside of the house fled the house when they heard gunshots going off," said John Jordan with the League City Police Department. "They fled to a neighbor's house, called the police on 911, advised us that there were shots being fired inside the house."

Once a A SWAT team was able to establish that there was no movement inside, they entered the home. They found the bodies of all three victims.

Authorities told Eyewitness News that a .38 caliber pistol was found near the younger man's body.

Investigators believe the shooting is the result of an argument over money.
