Javier Gomez, 20, was a passenger in his family's Ford Expedition back on April 26. The driver, who was unknown to Javier's family and friends, was speeding down Lyons Avenue in north Houston when he lost control of the vehicle, striking a lamp post and rolling over several times before coming to rest.
The driver fled on foot while Gomez was still inside the vehicle. Arriving emergency personnel pronounced Javier dead at the scene.
The driver is described only as a Hispanic male about 5'5" to 5'7" tall, weighing 150-160 pounds, and having short dark brown hair.
