Matthys Elementary in Pasadena ISD is one of the campuses that is back in class. The district did take steps to clean the school before the bell rings and they want children to remember to wash their hand and cover their mouths when they cough or sneeze.

In Katy ISD, Beckendorff Junior High also reopened today. There are a couple of notes for parents and students. Beckendorff students will be taking their final TAKS test tomorrow and the ban on out-of-district travel has been lifted.

Students who go to Navasota ISD in Grimes County have a few more days off. The district will remain closed until Monday, May 11.

There's also some good news for athletes. Today, all high school sports competitions in Texas will resume.

The plan had been to wait until Monday because of the swine flu. But since most schools are back in session, the UIL decided to start it up today.

Baseball and softball playoffs will begin next week.
