Investigators say Brandon Buckley went outside to play at the Copper Chase Apartments around 4pm Saturday at South Mason near Park Tree. He went back home to use the restroom an hour later before heading back out with a soda. His mother says he never returned. She called 911 to report his disappearance.

Deputies searched the apartment complex with a canine unit Saturday night and conducted door to door searches twice throughout the weekend.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Department, on Sunday the mother of one of Brandon's friends saw the missing child report on the news and contacted the sheriff's office. Brandon spent Saturday night at the friend's house, after running away from home. The friend's mother did not know Brandon did not have permission to spend the night. Brandon was located riding his bicycle in the Williamsburg Colony Subdivision and was returned home at approximately 6:45pm Sunday.

Brandon's family only moved to the apartment complex a few weeks ago. His mother says her son does not have any emotional or disciplinary problems and does not have any history as a runaway.
