Around 10:15pm Saturday, the deputy tried to pull over a Chevy Impala on Veteran's Memorial Drive. But the driver never stopped, terrifying innocent drivers. The deputy chased the car through red lights and into a subdivision. The Impala ended up crashing into two cars off of Antoine.
"The deputy observed the vehicle blowing through the red light, and hitting two other vehicles as he did so," said Lt. John Legg with Harris County Sheriff's Office. "There were two other individuals in the vehicles as well."
As the deputy tried to arrest the three men in the Impala, the driver started to run. Investigators say the deputy fired his weapon in attempt to stop the suspect. He was hit several times and died at the scene.
The other two men in the car were taken into custody for questioning as the investigation continues.
