Beginning Friday, all Navasota ISD schools will be closed. They'll remain closed until May 11. The decision to close was made by Grimes County Judge Betty Shiflett and Navasota Mayor Bert Miller.

Numerous reported cases of high fever, upper respiratory distress, and multiple flu like symptoms are pending clinical confirmation or denial for the swine flu.

The cancellation of school until May 11 also means there will be no extracurricular activities such as field trips.

The Navasota ISD website will be maintained during the school closure period and current information will be available.
