Officials say there were no serious injuries after a Jacksonville school bus carrying 29 children was struck by an 18-wheeler. School district spokesman Marc McCloud says about 15 students were taken to area hospitals after the Monday morning accident and most had been released.

He says the children on the bus, ages 10 to 12, were headed to Nichols Intermediate School.

He says the truck hit the bus in the rear passenger wheel area.

Jacksonville police say the truck driver was issued a citation for failure to control speed.
