Law enforcement officials say around 3:30pm Sunday the department received a call about a possible abduction or kidnapping. The caller said three Hispanic men were holding his father hostage. The son said he had paid the men money and they wanted more.
When deputies showed up to the house at Hollywood and Hillsboro, they say the residents from the home ran out the back door. Deputies say they detained six suspects and have possibly uncovered a human smuggling ring. They believe there were 13 hostages also being held inside.
The sheriff's department interviewed the hostages and suspects Sunday evening to determine what is going on at the house.
Paramedics were also on scene checking the hostage's health.
