Bailiff shocks man during courtroom altercation

A murder trial at the Harris County District Courts took on addtional drama when a bailiff shocked a witness with a Taser.[SIGN UP: Get headlines and breaking news sent to you]

Shortly after noon, a witness who is under identification protection was testifying in a murder case. Lamelvin Johnson, who was in the courtroom, reportedly stood up and took the witness's picture with a cell phone camera. The bailiff tried to take Johnson outside of the courtroom to have him delete the photo.

Outside the courtroom, a physical altercation took place, during which the bailiff subdued Johnson with a Taser. The sheriff's department is investigating. Johnson was charged with assault on a peace officer.

The trial taking place centered around a deadly shooting at a southwest Houston apartment complex back in 2006. The murder was believed to be drug related.
