Galveston mayor to ask for more recovery funds

Galveston's mayor is back in Washington to ask congress for more money for storm recovery efforts. [SIGN UP: Get headlines and breaking news sent to you]

Mayor Lyda Ann Thomas left for the nation's capital yesterday. She is going to testify in front of congressional members about FEMA's response on the island, and give ideas on how to speed up recovery efforts.

A month ago Mayor Thomas and other Galveston city officials were in Washington to ask for money to help with storm recovery.
