Investigators said a man went into a Chase bank off the Southwest Freeway Saturday morning, claiming to have a gun. They said a second man was waiting in a getaway car.
A teller was able to secretly call 911 while the man was inside the bank.
An eyewitness saw the man run out of the bank to and get into a car. Police said the information from the teller was valuable.
"But it's also kind of dangerous. We don't recommend people put themselves in a situation where there's somebody with a weapon who may discharge that weapon," said Sgt. Joseph MacDonough of the Sugar Land Police Department.
Officers stopped the men off the Southwest Freeway and arrested them. They said the suspected getaway driver told them he had no idea a robbery was happening. Police found a ski mask in the car.
