Blind woman killed while chasing daughter

The accident happened at 6:40pm Wednesday on Bay Area Boulevard at Moon Rock. The 38-year-old woman was crossing northbound at the northwest part of the intersection. She was struck by a female driver of a red Chevrolet Suburban who was traveling westbound on Bay Area Boulevard.

The victim was legally blind, and was following her daughter, who had just run across the intersection. The woman was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

There are no pedestrian crosswalks at the intersection. The investigation is continuing.
