Firefighters faced intense bedroom blaze

Firefighters had to go into defensive mode when a one story house in northeast Houston caught fire overnight. [SIGN UP: Get headlines and breaking news sent to you]

Fire crews arrived to find heavy flames shooting from the house on Shreveport near Wileyvale. They made a fast attack but quickly went on defensive when the flames became too intense in one bedroom.

The fire was tapped out in 20 minutes. No one was home at the time of the blaze. Arson investigators are now trying to determine the cause of the fire.
