There is troubling news on the road to recovery in Galveston. The Galveston Daily News reports repairs of hurricane damage at Shriners Hospital have been halted, leaving the hospital's future in question.[SIGN UP: Get headlines and breaking news sent to you]

You'll recall last week, Devon Energy announced it had donated $120,000 to help Shriners with clean-up efforts.

The hospital was forced to close last year due to severe damage from Hurricane Ike. But four Galveston employees told the Daily News that they were informed yesterday the hospital likely would close for good and they would receive pay until March 31st.

We called Shriners officials, but they would not comment.
