Firefighter crashes through roof

It happened as officials were trying to stop flames from spreading at the Arbor Square apartments on Sandpiper in southwest Houston. The fire damaged or destroyed eight apartments in the complex. One unit was vacant.

A firefighter was standing up on the roof when he suddenly came crashing through. He was uninjured, and able to walk away following the incident.

Another firefighter was taken to Hermann Hospital Southwest by ambulance for exhaustion. That rescuer is expected to be OK.

There's no word yet on the cause of the fire.
