The fire department received a call after 5pm that a mobile home was burning on Gatecrest near the Hardy Toll Road.
Some people on the scene who claim they are relatives believe the person who died in the fire was their grandmother. Their grandfather took the grandchildren to dinner, but the grandmother was tired and stayed home to take a nap.
A 13-year-old neighbor saw the flames and called 911.
"I saw fire about six inches tall and it started getting bigger," said Antonio Soto.
Arson investigators have not determined the cause of the fire.
The name of the victim hasn't been released.
