Investigators say a shooter ran up to the 15-year-old outside the Sierra Vista Apartments on El Camino Del Rey and Chimney Rock and opened fire. The victim was taken to the hospital just before midnight to be treated for a possible spinal cord injury.
Police say they have no idea why that boy was targeted, except that it was not a robbery.
Witnesses gave investigators a description of a possible getaway vehicle, but it's very vague.
