Astros pick up 3B Boone

December 18, 2008 6:45:46 PM PST
The Astros parted ways with Ty Wiggington this off-season, so now former Yankee third-baseman Aaron Boone will be playing at the hot corner for the Astros next year. He has agreed to a one-year deal with the Astros to share duties with Geoff Blum. They are hoping Chris Johnson can make the jump from Round Rock, but until then, they will use the veterans.

Boone is 35 years old and hit .241 last year with the Nationals. He was an all-star back in '03.
