The ExxonMobil Foundation presented a check for $1.2 million to the Houston A-Plus Challenge Program to help fund the program which is used in area school districts. The A-Plus Challenge focuses on improving math skills in students.
"To date more than 35,000 students have benefited from that program and thanks to this partnership, the interest in math has grown as well as achievement scores in the area of math," said Dr. Abe Saavedra, HISD Superintendent.
The A-Plus Challenge is used in Houston, Alief and Aldine ISDs.
