Man caught in 5 holdup attempts in hour

SAN ANGELO, TX Police Lt. Curtis Milbourn says a 20-year-old San Angelo man was captured Monday following a traffic accident.

Milbourn says formal charges are pending against the suspect, whose vehicle was located based on witness descriptions.

Milbourn says the fleeing man suffered non-life threatening injuries when his vehicle collided with a truck near Rowena. He was transported to Ballinger Memorial Hospital.

The holdups began late Saturday at a Mexican restaurant and ended early Sunday at a pizza place. Milbourn says no weapon was displayed, but the robber made statements like "give me the money or I'll kill you."

In one case the robber walked to a drive-thru window and slugged a clerk in the face.

Details were not released on how much money was stolen.
