Pearland police say someone is calling people and asking for donations for the Greater Houston Chapter of C.O.P.S., which stands for Concerns of Police Survivors.

Investigators say it's a possible scam based on the recent shooting death of Officer Abernethy. C.O.P.S. representatives say they accept donations, but never ask for them over the phone.
