On November 28, five-year-old Jose Juventino Camarillo apparently suffered stomach pains. When his mother arrived home from work, she gave Jose some medicine. Later in the evening, his condition worsened and he was eventually taken to LBJ Hospital where he died.
An autopsy showed Jose died of blunt force trauma to his abdomen. Police interviewed the boy's stepfather, Felipe Reyna Garcia, 24, who allegedly admitted hitting Jose in the stomach.
Garcia was arrested at his home without incident on Wednesday. He's charged with felony murder.
