Eighteen-year-old Alan Nickerson confessed to being one of the teens who killed Carltrell Odom last December. Since he was just 17 at the time, he was not eligible for the death penalty.

Odom was shot and killed at a southeast Houston apartment complex when five teenagers tried to rob him. All of the other suspects have been caught and charged with capital murder.
