Big rig crash knocks out power to residents

HOUSTON It happened around 11pm on the Gulf Freeway near Fuqua. Police say the truck driver jumped the freeway, plowing into everything in sight, including electrical equipment and road signs.

About 1,000 people lost power for a couple of hours. The big rig finally stopped on a feeder road. The driver was not hurt.

Police think he may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
