Serial bank robber hits three banks

HOUSTON The robber first attempted to steal money from a bank on Wallisville near the East Beltway but did not succeed. However he was able to steal cash from a bank on Woodforest a mile and a half down the road.

His third attempt was at a Washington Mutual two and a half miles from the second robbery. He left that bank empty-handed.

Wednesday afternoon the FBI Houston Bank Robbery Task Force arrested Kerry Jovan Smith, age 23, of Houston, for the robbery and attempted robbery of the three banks. He was arrested in Pasadena without incident.
