Harold Batiste, 47, of Houston, died September 20 after he was struck by a tree limb while cutting trees. Batiste died from blunt force trauma.
Batiste's death brings the total of deaths nationwide from Hurricane Ike to 68.
More than 1 million people evacuated the Texas coast due to Ike. The storm caused flooding and deaths as far away as Pennsylvania and Illinois.
The September 13 storm killed at least 80 people in the Caribbean before pummeling the Gulf Coast.
