Performance audit on HPD to be released

HOUSTON One of the issues at focus is the use of Tasers by police officers. Some Houstonians have called for a moratorium on Taser use, claiming it's used disproportionately on African-American suspects.

From December of 2004 through April of this year -- officers used their Tasers 1,675 times. Sixty-four percent of those cases involved African American suspects.
