Fatal freeway crossing causes shutdown

Police shutdown the North Freeway overnight after a man was killed trying to cross. It happened Saturday night on the North Freeway and West Road.

The victim was trying to make it across the southbound lanes when he was hit by an SUV. He was hit by a second vehicle and dragged more than 50 feet. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The freeway was closed for three hours while police investigated the deadly wreck.
