Getting hitched is for the dogs

NEW DELHI, India Six pairs of dogs were united in wedlock at a mass wedding ceremony in New Delhi, India, on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008 . The event , held for the first time in India , had more than 100 participants - all dressed up for the occasion.

The selected couples walked the aisle as their delighted owners showered flower petals on the beaming canines. Dog owners say getting suitable partners for their pets is not very easy and social events like these can help in finding the right mate for them.
