Cruise extended by Gustav

GALVESTON, TX The Carnival Ecstasy, which visited Progreso in the Mexican state of Yucatan, will "remain at sea at a safe distance away from the storm" and will return to Galveston on Wednesday, the cruise line said in a written statement.

The next cruise on the Ecstasy, which had been scheduled for five days, has been changed to a three-day "Cruise-To-Nowhere" that will leave late Wednesday afternoon and return to Galveston on Saturday.

Guests on the three-day cruise will receive a 50 percent discount on their cruise fare and a 50 percent discount on a future cruise. They may also cancel for a full refund, Carnival said.
