Obama campaign manager David Plouffe (pluhf) tells ABC's "Good Morning America" that the candidate wants to make sure the audience has "a clear sense of where he wants to take the country."
Meanwhile, Republicans are poking fun at the Roman column set from which Obama will make his speech. Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty tells ABC it's a "perfect metaphor" -- calling it an "interesting production," but adding that "behind it there's not much there."
Democrats repond by noting that President Bush's acceptance speech in 2004 took place on an elaborate stage that included Greek columns.
