McCain not sure how many houses he and wife own

WASHINGTON According to the publication Politico, McCain responded to a question by saying he'd have to get back on the exact figure. Later, his campaign told Politico that McCain and his wife, Cindy, have at least four homes in three states. Newsweek recently estimated the couple owned at least seven properties.

The comments came days after the Arizona senator cracked that being rich in the U.S. meant earning at least 5 million dollars a year.

According to Cindy McCain's 2006 tax returns, she had a total income of 6 million dollars.

Barack Obama says those making $250,000 and higher are in the top 3 to 4 percent and "doing well." The Democrat and his wife reported earnings of more than 4 million dollars last year.
