Armed robbers target spas

HOUSTON Crime Stoppers and HPD Robbery Investigators are seeking the public's help in solving robberies of two spas located in southeast Houston. Two black male suspects are believed to be involved in both robberies.

The first robbery occurred July 1, 2008 at the Oriental Bath House at 8022 Almeda Genoa Road just south of Hobby Airport. The suspects robbed their victims for money and two cellular phones. The victims activated a security alarm, and the suspects fled in a 2004-2008 silver pickup truck raised up with a lifting kit, and large tires. The suspects were captured on surveillance tape.

The second occurred July 8, 2008 at the Q Spa at 7609 Broadview Drive. One suspect entered the spa and requested services, using a credit card that was not his. The suspect left after being refused services, but returned later with another suspect. Each displayed dark-colored revolvers. The demanded money and jewelry, and took cash and credit cards from customers before leaving the business. They took the spa's surveillance cameras with them as well.

The suspects are described as black males in their early to mid 20s. One is about 5'8" to 5'10" tall, 165-170 pounds, with close-cropped black hair and brown eyes. The other is about 5'11" to 6'2" tall, about 160-170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. The second suspect was wearing a decorative t-shirt and a ball cap.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information called in to the 713-222-8477 (TIPS) hotline that leads to the identification, arrest and charging of any suspect in this case. All callers remain anonymous.
